IAI-AstroLab

The IAI-AstroLab is the first astronomy research group supported by a university in the Arica and Parinacota Region of Chile. 

We are a strong group of researchers that are developing the areas of stellar, Galactic and extragalactic astronomy at the Instituto de Alta Investigación (IAI-UTA). We aim to be recognized as a relevant and attractive research hub by the astronomical community that contributes to regional and national astronomy development through the generation of new knowledge. We are located in the Metropolitan Region, however, as members of the IAI-UTA, we are strongly committed to the advanced dissemination of our knowledge and research in the region where the Universidad de Tarapacá is inserted.
